Cheers!

Dear Keaton,

Someday you will thank your uber-cool, uh, slightly-cool, somewhat-dorky parents for teaching you a really important party skill.

You were taking a little long to get the hang of the sippy cup so we decided to implement a training method Daddy picked up in a little place he calls "The Fraternity".

We don't talk much about this place unless Daddy is with his friends he calls "Frat Brothers".

Apparently they practiced this skill a lot and it really helped them get smarter hydrated.

Psst- Don't tell anyone about our little secret but it sure helped you figure out how a sippy cup works!

This Ain't Your Sister's Ballet Class!

Ballet class ... graceful and dainty, giggles and pigtails, pink leotards and pink tights, pink tutu optional.

BRING IT ON!

Enter Carson & Nathan.

Bulls in a china shop.
Camo lycra shirt, orange socks pulled up to knees.
Disney's Cars shirt & sweat shorts.

Behind the one way glass, sat three very enamoured mothers.

Two mothers cackling wildly at their son's antics.

One mother whose vision of pink leotards, pink tights, and pink tutus was crushed in a sweaty, loud mess of testosterone, camo, and chaos!

This video captured the first ballet lesson perfectly.

Emma, the pretty, pink sweet girl posed perfectly, and lept beautifully and gracefully over a carefully placed doll on the floor. I didn't get that on video but did capture this: (please turn up for full effect)

Nathan's mother just texted me..... Emma is no longer with us.
Her mother transferred her to the Monday class.

This ain't your sister's ballet class!!

Out of the mouths of babes

Cute conversations around our home recently:

*******************************

Daddy "fashion-showed" us his new suit. We oohed and aahed.

Later we asked Carson what he was planned to wear to his first tap lesson tomorrow morning, his very serious reply, "A suit".

*******************************

Story before bedtime: Thomas the Train accidentally ended up with fish in his tank. Thankfully the problem was remedied by his handy driver who caught all the fish and made "fish and chips" for dinner.

The teacher in me couldn't help it, "Carson, that's just like the fish you had for dinner!"

Carson, "You mean that chicken was fish?"

*******************************

Carson: "Mommy, I have an eye boogie. I found it this morning I forgot about it so I just left it in there all day."

*******************************

Picked Carson up from school and he shouted out across the parking lot, "Hey!" and waved frantically at another little boy.

C: "Mommy, mommy! That's my BEST FRIEND!"

M: That's great Carson! What's his name?

C: I don't know.

Summer's Over!?! Belated Jun-July-Aug Pics!

Here we are on Sept 3...where did the summer go? According to the National Weather Statistics, Oregon just finished up the coldest summer in 17 years!! So really, we never had a summer!

But enough whining. The boys will probably only be asleep for a few more minutes so I'll focus on posting as many pictures of the summer as I can.

Beginning back in JUNE!

Blurry but so charming!

Carson and his BFF Eloise

Double Trouble! Look who we ran into at the fair! Mason!

Carson, Mommy and Daddy had a special date night without Buddy! We went back to the fair for a late evening of watching the MONSTER TRUCKS!! Wooohoo!

Throw in some go-cart racing and it was the best night ever!

Press fast foward and now it's the State Fair! Check out that outfit! Oh the joys of self-dressing. One battle I usually choose not to fight.
